Rangareddy police seize liquor, jaggery worth ₹14.56 lakh
HYDERABAD: Enforcement teams in Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts have seized liquor and jaggery worth ₹14.56 lakh during raids against illegal alcohol transport and illicit liquor preparation.
125 premium liquor bottles seized in Shamshabad
On Shamshabad highway, Rangareddy enforcement inspectors Subhash Chander and Balaraju led vehicle checks. Their team seized 125 premium liquor bottles valued at ₹7.50 lakh. Officials said the stock was brought from Goa. Notices were issued to 15 persons linked to the consignment.
Johnny Walker bottles found in Musheerabad
In a separate raid, Hyderabad Excise team inspector Nagaraju recovered six Johnny Walker liquor bottles from the residence of a man identified as Naresh in Achaya Nagar, Musheerabad.
2,010 kg jaggery seized in Nagarkurnool-bound truck
Special Task Force (STF) teams intercepted a truck carrying jaggery used for country liquor brewing near Hyderabad on its way to Nagarkurnool. Sub-inspector Balaraju’s team seized 2,010 kg jaggery and 50 kg alum from the vehicle. Police also seized a DCM truck and two mobile phones.
Two persons, identified as Maharshi and Qasim, were arrested. Authorities estimated the seized jaggery consignment to be worth ₹4.56 lakh.
