Hyderabad: Ram Navami was joyfully celebrated across Telangana on Sunday. People were seen offering special prayers and rituals at temples in the state.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy offered silk clothes and 'mutyala talambralu' at the historic Sri Sita Ramachandraswamy temple in Bhadrachalam. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, State Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, and other leaders were also seen offering prayers on the occasion.

Residents of several residential welfare associations and apartment complexes held celestial weddings (Kalyanam) to seek blessings for health, wealth, and prosperity.

In Hyderabad, Governor Jishu Dev Varma attended the ‘Shobha Yatra' at Sitarambagh temple in Asifnagar from where the Sri Ramanavami Shobha Yatra began in the afternoon.
Scores of people, young and old, were seen participating in the Shobha Yatra taken out by Goshamahal BJP legislator Raja Singh from Aakashpuri Hanuman temple in Dhoolpet on Sunday.

The procession is currently passing through several areas of the old city including Dhoolpet, Puranapul, Begum Bazar Chatri, Siddiamber Bazar, Gowliguda Gurdwara, before culminating in a public meeting Hanuman Vyayamshala in Hanuman Tekri, Koti.

Nearly 20,000 police personnel including those from Rapid Action Force, Quick Response Teams, City Rapid Action Force, Hyderabad Task Force, City Armed Reserve, and City Security Group have been deployed along the procession route. Hyderabad police have also deployed drones and CCTVs to monitor the procession route and to ensure security for the participants in the yatra.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand is monitoring the progress of the procession through drone footage and CCTV feeds from Joint Command and Control Center, Banjara Hills. He’s also giving instructions to the field-level officers to ensure smooth flow of shobha yatra.

The city police have granted conditional permission to the Raja Singh-led procession. In an order issued by Additional Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Vikram Singh Mann, the police made it clear that the procession should not cause any inconvenience to the general public. The procession should keep the other side of the road free for regular traffic movement.

The organizers have also been asked to stick to the permitted route. The police have prohibited the use of DJs, sound mixers, high sound generating equipment, mobile mikes and loud speakers in the procession and after the public meeting in Hanuman Vyayamshala.
