BJP accepts resignation of Telangana MLA T. Raja Singh
Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially accepted the resignation of Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh from the party with immediate effect. The announcement was made through a letter issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh on July 11.
In the letter addressed to T. Raja Singh Lodh at his residence in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad, Arun Singh stated, “This is with reference to your letter dated June 30, 2025, addressed to G. Kishan Reddy, President, BJP Telangana, regarding your resignation from the party. The contents of your letter have been brought to the notice of National President Jagat Prakash Nadda. The points raised by you do not align with the functioning, ideology, and principles of the party. As directed by the National President, your resignation has been accepted with immediate effect.”
Raja Singh had tendered his resignation on June 30 in protest against the appointment of former MLC Ramchander Rao as the new BJP Telangana President. In his resignation letter to G. Kishan Reddy, he expressed disappointment over the decision, calling it a setback for many party workers and supporters.
“With a heavy heart, I write this letter to reflect the pain of lakhs of Karyakartas who feel let down,” he stated, adding that the decision had shocked many within the party. He questioned the leadership move, especially at a time when the BJP is aiming to form its first government in Telangana.
Raja Singh criticized what he described as internal lobbying and personal interests influencing leadership decisions. “This undermines the sacrifices of grassroots workers and risks setting the party back,” he wrote.
Having won the Goshamahal seat three consecutive times, Raja Singh expressed his discontent over the direction of the state unit. “This is not about personal ambition. It reflects the frustration of lakhs of loyal BJP Karyakartas and supporters who feel sidelined,” he said.
In the same letter, he requested G. Kishan Reddy to inform the Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly that he is no longer a BJP member. Despite quitting the party, Raja Singh reaffirmed his commitment to Hindutva and the people of his constituency. “I will continue to support the Hindu community and raise my voice with even greater strength,” he said.
He also appealed to senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Amit Shah, and BL Santhosh, to reconsider the leadership choice in Telangana. “Telangana is ready for the BJP, but the right leadership must be chosen to seize this opportunity,” he concluded.
