Hyderabad: Hours after the Cyberabad police issued summons, Raj Pakala, the brother-in-law of BRS leader KT Rama Rao approached the Telangana High Court seeking protection on Monday.

Earlier in the day, Mokila police sent him notices and asked him to appear before them for questioning in the Janwada farmhouse case. The notice was served under Section 35 (3) of the BNSS. The notice added that failure to comply with the summons could result in legal consequences, including the possibility of arrest.

In his plea, Pakala argued that the police were trying to arrest him without just cause and requested an order to prevent his arrest. The case, linked to FIR No. 311/2024, involves allegations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Telangana Gaming Act.

The matter has been assigned to Justice Vijaysan Reddy, who will hear the plea after the lunch break. Pakala's defence counsel maintained that the police’s actions violated their client’s rights. The urgency of the petition highlights the tense situation surrounding the investigation, as Pakala was summoned by the Mokila police earlier today to appear for questioning.
