Raj Pakala, KTR’s brother-in-law, appears before Mokila police in Janwada case
Hyderabad: Raj Pakala, the brother-in-law of K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), appeared before the Mokila police on October 30, 2024, for questioning in connection with the Janwada farmhouse case. Accompanied by his lawyer, Raj Pakala was summoned by the police to provide clarity regarding allegations related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Telangana Gaming Act.
The police had initially requested Raj Pakala's presence at 11:00 a.m. on October 28, 2024, for his testimony in an investigation that has raised significant concerns over illegal drug activities and gaming operations in the region. He was issued a notice requiring him to present identification and proof of residence.
Shortly after receiving the police summons, Raj Pakala sought protection from the Telangana High Court on October 28, 2024.
Earlier, a raid was conducted by the Special Operation Team (SOT) of Cyberabad at Raj Pakala's farmhouse in Janwada on the night of October 26-27, 2024. The operation was prompted by information about a rave party, with authorities from the Narsingi Police, SOT, and Excise Department involved in the raid. Police detained 21 males and 14 females present at the party for questioning.
During the investigation, one individual, Vijay Madduri, tested positive for cocaine and was subsequently sent to a hospital for further testing. A case has been registered against him under Section 27 of the NDPS Act at Mokila Police Station.
Authorities also discovered that a liquor party was organized without the necessary permits from the Excise Department. They seized seven unauthorized bottles of foreign liquor and 10 loose Indian liquor bottles during the raid, which involved the use of a sniffer dog.
Investigations revealed that Raj Pakala, the owner of the farmhouse, failed to obtain the required Excise license for serving alcohol, leading to additional charges against him under relevant sections of the Excise Act.
