HYDERABAD: A controversy has erupted over a 2,500-square-yard plot in Rahmath Nagar, under the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, after the Telangana Waqf Board issued orders declaring it Waqf land and allotting it for use as a Muslim burial ground.

However, military officials have objected to the move, asserting that the entire plot — including the adjoining road — belongs to the Defence Department and has no connection with the Waqf Board.

Following the dispute, Army authorities reportedly took control of the land, deployed personnel at the site, and restricted public access to prevent any encroachment.
