Hyderabad: Telangana High Court reserved its judgment on the bail petition of Former Task force Deputy commissioner of police(DCP) P Radha Kishan Rao, an accused in the phone tapping case. Arguments of both sides were concluded on Friday.

Public prosecutor Palle Nageswara Rao opposed the bail petition, claiming Radha Kishan Rao might tamper with evidence and influence the witness. While arguing against the bail petition,
Rao said Radha Kishan had misused his official position and indulged in phone tapping.

He stated that in the 15 days of data available from Nov 16 to Nov 30, 2023, over 5000 members' phones were tapped. Some of the high profile names cited by the Public prosecutor include Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Former Telangana TDP chief Kasani Gyaneshwar, Congress MP Raghuveer Kunduru whose phones were allegedly tapped.

Further, he cited the statement of Chakardhar Goud, who recently lodged a complaint against T.Harish Rao and a case was registered on the same. He stated the FSL reports of P. Radhakishan Rao’s devices had been received by the investigation officials. Due to the large volume of material to analyze, it requires time. Subsequently, the Public Prosecutor urged the court to dismiss the bail petition.

Senior counsel Enuganti Sudhanshu Rao, representing Radha Kishan Rao in the bail petition, said FSL reports are safe in their custody, there is no chance of tampering the evidence, and all witness statements are recorded with no chance of influencing them. Rao urged the Telangana High Court to grant bail.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the Telangana High Court has reserved its judgment on the bail petition.
