Rachakonda police arrest trio for trespassing on Padma Shri Mogulaiah’s land
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Thursday arrested three persons for allegedly trespassing into the land of Padma Shri Awardee, Kinnera player and folk singer Darshnam Mogulaiah, popularly known as Kinnera Mogulaiah.
The police apprehended Dr. Bhavanam Brahma, a driver and a labourer for their “criminal trespass and damage of the precast compound wall of open plot, which was allotted to the folk singer.
A few days ago, some unknown miscreants reportedly damaged the compound wall of a plot allocated by the Telangana government to the renowned folk artist. The state government had allotted a 600 square yards of land parcel in Survey number 159 at Bagh Hayathnagar.
The land was granted to Kinnera Mogulaiah in recognition of his significant contributions to preserving Telangana’s cultural heritage. He received the Padma Shri award in 2022 for preserving the traditional art form of the Kinnera, a unique folk musical instrument from Telangana.
Following the destruction of the compound wall, Mogulaiah approached the Hayathnagar police station. A case of trespassing was registered against unidentified individuals for vandalizing folk singer’s property.
Later, Mogulaiah met Rachakonda commissioner G Sudheer Babu at his LB Nagar camp office. The Commissioner assured him that the police would investigate and resolve the matter.
