R V Karnan warns against carrying over ₹50,000 during Jubilee Hills bypoll
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad district election officer and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner R V Karnan issued a key advisory to citizens in view of the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll.
He said people should not travel with more than ₹50,000 in cash without proper documentation. If caught, the money would be seized, he warned.
Flying Squads, Surveillance Teams on Vigil
Karnan said flying squads and static surveillance teams were conducting checks across Hyderabad district to ensure adherence to election rules. To handle complaints related to the bypoll, he formed a District Grievance Redressal Committee and a Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC).
Committees to Clear Seized Cash
The MCMC, chaired by the district election officer, will verify documents and authorise the release of seized cash. The committee’s office is located on the third floor of the GHMC head office building.
