Hyderabad: Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival: The 19th edition of the city-based Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival will kick off on November 6. According to a press release, the five-day theatre festival will be held at Taramati Baradari Cultural Complex in Hyderabad.

South India’s premier theatre fest will present an opportunity for art connoisseurs to witness performances, workshops and masterclasses by actors, poets, writers and directors. Taramati Baradari will come alive when some of the eminent performers such as Ila Arun, Nadira Babbar, Ashish Vidyarthi, K.K. Raina, Himani Sivpuri, Rajendra Gupta, Praveen Kumar, Dolly Thakore, Alexander Wright from UK, Zila Khan and Mohammad Ali Baig set the stage on fire with their captivating performances.

This year's multi-lingual festival features some of the best plays from across the country and overseas. Ila Arun and KK Raina will perform ‘Miracle on Matunga Street’ a satire adapted from Tom Dudzick’s play ‘Miracle on South Division Street’. Popular Bollywood actor Ashish Vidyarthi will present a stand-up comedy act, Vitthal Kaanya, from the movie ‘Vaastav’ while Nadira Babbar wrote and directed ‘Farida’ a love story set in the backdrop of a picturesque Kashmir valley.

The annual Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival, held in Hyderabad every year, pays tribute to the late Qadir Ali Baig Saheb, a theatre legend.
