BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar seeks action against Telangana Galam for morphed photos
Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar has filed a social media complaint with the Station House Officer (SHO) of Narsingi Police Station, Cyberabad, requesting action against individuals behind the X account "Telangana Galam" for morphing photos and spreading false propaganda.
In a post on his official social media handle (@RSPraveenSwaero), RS Praveen Kumar expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of response from the Telangana Cyber Crime Bureau (TGCyberBureau). He stated that, despite having submitted a complaint a week ago, no action had been taken.
The complaint, addressed to the SHO of Narsingi PS, Cyberabad, highlighted an incident during the BRS Party’s Silver Jubilee celebrations in Warangal on April 27. Praveen Kumar participated in a wall-writing campaign in Kosini Gram Panchayat, Kagaz Nagar Rural, Asifabad District, and shared visuals of the event on his social media. However, some individuals, under the name Telangana Galam, allegedly morphed one of the photos to falsely depict anti-BRS sentiments, misrepresenting the facts. Praveen Kumar suspects that Telangana Galam is linked to the Congress Party IT Cell based in Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, Hyderabad.
The complaint further stated that the morphed image was defamatory and could potentially incite conflict between groups. Praveen Kumar has called for the individuals responsible to be arrested and punished under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 196, 197, 351, 352, and 353.
In his post, Praveen Kumar provided links to the morphed images, as well as a link to the original post he shared on X.com, which can be accessed at x.com/rspraveenswaer. He also pointed out that while he had tagged the relevant authorities, including TGCSB, ICCC, and Banjara Hills, he had not received any response.
BRS leader criticized the cyber cops for their proactive stance in booking cases against BRS members for criticizing government policies, while failing to act in this instance. He highlighted that freedom of speech, as guaranteed under Article 19 of the Constitution, must be protected.
He concluded his complaint by urging the authorities to investigate the matter and safeguard his fundamental rights.
