Panchayat Secretary arrested for bribery in Sangareddy
Sangareddy: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested P. Sachin Kumar, the Panchayat Secretary of Atmakur Village, Sadashivpet Mandal, Sangareddy District, on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe.
Sachin Kumar, who previously served as the Panchayat Secretary of Ilapur Village, Ameenpur Mandal, was apprehended on the morning of November 21, 2024, at 11:45 a.m. The case dates back to his tenure in Ilapur Village, where he allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 30,000 from a complainant for the allotment of a house number.
As part of the bribe, he accepted Rs. 10,000, and later, at the complainant’s request, reduced the remaining balance to Rs. 15,000 instead of the originally demanded Rs. 20,000.
The accused officer is charged with performing his official duties improperly and dishonestly in exchange for an undue financial gain.
Following his arrest, P. Sachin Kumar is being produced before the Hon'ble Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court in Hyderabad. The investigation is ongoing.
The ACB has urged the public to report any incidents of bribery by public servants to their toll-free helpline at 1064. The identity of the complainants will be kept confidential.
