Over 60 lakh stolen from hotel locker in Miryalaguda

Burglars stole over ₹60 lakh in cash from a locker at Vaishnavi Grand Hotel in Miryalaguda, Nalgonda district, late on Friday night. The incident came to light on Saturday.

According to DSP Rajashekar Raju, the hotel management had been keeping business proceeds in a locker on the first floor of the building. Around 1am on Friday, an unidentified man entered the hotel, forced open room doors and the locker, and made away with the cash.
The management lodged a complaint with the police, following which a clues team and dog squad were pressed into service to gather evidence.

CCTV footage showed that a single person committed the theft. The DSP said the investigation has been expedited and assured that the accused would be arrested and produced before court soon.
