Eight Arrested in Rs.29.8 Lakh Online Betting Racket

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone, along with SR Nagar Police, busted an illegal online betting racket and arrested eight persons while two others remain absconding. The gang was operating through banned mobile applications including Khelostar, Khelo24, Kehlo Exchange, Khelo Sports, and Win Match. Police seized 18 mobile phones, three bank passbooks, 13 ATM cards and froze online transactions amounting to ₹29,81,000.

Betting apps and fake accounts

Investigations revealed that the main accused, Rajesh and Aslam from Karimnagar, formed the gang in Hyderabad and provided user IDs, passwords, and mobile phones to punters on commission basis. They also collected bank accounts from unsuspecting individuals to route betting proceeds. So far, police have identified 235 betting IDs linked to the racket.

Based on a tip-off, police intercepted the accused near Nagarjuna School, SR Nagar, and seized the material. The accused and seized property were handed over to SR Nagar Police, which registered Cr. No. 681/2025 under Sections 3 and 4 of the TS Gaming Act. Further investigation is in progress to trace the absconding accused.
