Omega Hospitals, Hyderabad, denies links to Doctor Namratha Chigurupati held in cocaine case
Hyderabad: Omega Hospitals has issued a public clarification stating that Dr. Namratha Chigurupati, who was recently arrested in Hyderabad for purchasing cocaine, is not associated with the hospital in any capacity.
The clarification follows media reports referring to Dr. Namratha Chigurupati as the CEO of Omega Hospitals. In a statement, the hospital said, “This is an isolated incident involving personal actions. Dr. Namratha Chigurupati is not connected to Omega Hospitals in any role.” The hospital urged the media and public to verify information before attributing unrelated personal conduct to the institution.
Dr. Namratha Chigurupati was arrested by Rayadurg police on Thursday after allegedly receiving a delivery of 53 grams of cocaine arranged by a Mumbai-based supplier. Police said she had transferred ₹5 lakh for the drugs. During the arrest, authorities seized the cocaine, ₹10,000 in cash, and two mobile phones. Preliminary investigations indicate she may have spent up to ₹70 lakh on drugs over the past four years.
