In response to these concerns, GHMC Online acknowledged the complaint and assured residents that the area’s electrical maintenance team had been informed and would address the repairs promptly. “Dear Citizen, The area electrical maintenance team has been informed and will attend to the repair of the non-functioning lights. @EESL_India @EESL_CZstlight,” GHMC responded.
Earlier, residents of Ashok Residency, Kakatiya Hills, Pragati Nagar, and Nizampet had lived in fear due to a lack of streetlights for over two weeks, which led to increased thefts. In one incident, a thief stole a gas cylinder after failing to find valuables in a home. The theft was captured on CCTV, and the footage was shared to help identify the suspect. The lack of streetlighting had made these areas more vulnerable to criminal activity.
Residents are increasingly concerned about their safety, particularly with children playing in the area, and are calling for immediate action to restore proper lighting. Authorities have since addressed the issue, and streetlights have been repaired in the Kakatiya Hills, Pragati Nagar, and Nizampet area.
