Hyderabad: Nizam College Hostel services hit by financial crisis; Boarders asked to contribute Rs. 3k
Hyderabad: Nizam College has announced that it is currently facing a severe financial crisis affecting the maintenance of its hostel facilities. According to an official notice issued by the college administration, regular suppliers have stopped delivering groceries, vegetables, and other essential food items due to significant outstanding dues owed by the institution.
The notice addressed all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) hostel boarders, urging those with pending hostel fees to clear their dues immediately. It also requested a contribution of Rs. 3,000 from every boarder to help sustain the hostel’s day-to-day operations and ensure uninterrupted food services.
The notice stated, “All the UG and PG hostel boarders are hereby informed that Nizam College is currently facing a severe financial crisis in maintaining the hostel facilities. This situation has arisen due to the non-supply of groceries, vegetables, and other essential food items by our regular suppliers, who have halted supplies owing to significant outstanding dues from the institution.”
It further added, “In view of this, all hostel boarders who have pending dues are requested to clear them immediately without any further delay. Alternatively, to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the hostel and food services, we request every UG and PG hostel boarder to contribute an amount of Rs. 3,000 towards hostel maintenance. Your kind cooperation and immediate response in this regard are highly solicited.”
Nizam College, an autonomous constituent college of Osmania University, was established in 1887 during the reign of Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VI. The college is located near Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad and was originally the palace of Fakhrul-ul-mulk II, a noble of Hyderabad.
The college offers undergraduate courses such as B.B.A., B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., and B.C.A., along with 13 postgraduate programs leading to M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com. degrees. It also runs professional courses including M.B.A., M.C.A., and M.Sc. (Information Systems).
