HYDERABAD: NBW team nabs man wanted in 30-year-old theft case
HYDERABAD: In a significant breakthrough, the Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) team of Jubilee Hills police apprehended a man wanted for almost 30 years in connection with a theft case registered in 1996.
The accused, Pantangi Vishnu Charry, son of P. Charry, aged 50, a centering worker from Kattamisamma, Jillelguda, and native of Ghatkesar, Yadadri district, was wanted in Crime No. 226/1996 under Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code at Jubilee Hills police station. The case had been pending as Long Pending Case (LPC No. 11/2004), with a non-bailable warrant issued by the court.
Tracked after three decades
Acting on credible information, the NBW team—comprising Head Constable (HC) 9443 Ch. Vijay Sudhakar of Jubilee Hills police station and Police Constable (PC) 6570 L. Surender of Film Nagar police station—traced and apprehended the accused after years of evasion. He was produced before the court through the Station House Officer, Jubilee Hills, for judicial proceedings.
