National Lok Adalat scheduled for March 8 in Telangana to resolve civil and criminal cases

The Lok Adalat aims to expedite the settlement of civil and compoundable criminal cases, both pending and pre-litigation. The initiative will be conducted at all levels, from the High Court to the Taluq level, and will offer free services for resolving disputes. Hyderabad: The Telangana State Legal Services Authority has announced that a National Lok Adalat will be held on March 8, 2025, across the state. This initiative aims to expedite the settlement of all civil and compoundable criminal cases, both pre-litigation and pending litigation cases.

As per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority, the Lok Adalat will be conducted at all levels, from the High Court of Telangana to the Taluq level. The initiative seeks to resolve a variety of cases, providing an accessible platform for individuals to settle disputes in a timely manner.

Under the leadership of the Chief Justice, Patron-in-Chief, and Hon'ble Executive Chairman of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, the Lok Adalat will be organized across the state in both physical and virtual modes.

The Lok Adalat services are free of charge. Court fees paid in pending cases will be refunded if the matter is settled through the Lok Adalat, and no appeals will be allowed against the awards passed.

The general public who are interested in resolving their pending or pre-litigation cases are encouraged to approach the Chairman or Secretary of their District Legal Services Authority, Nyaya Seva Sadan in the District Court Complex of respective Districts (or) visit the nearest Mandal Legal Services Committee or Court. The resolution of cases through National Lok Adalat will take place on March 8, 2025.
