Hyderabad: As part of the National Lok Adalat, the three commissionerates—Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda—refunded over 38 crores that they had put on hold in over 3,500 cyber crimes, according to the data released by the Telangana Police Department on Sunday.

The detailed breakup of the cases and amounts shows that the Hyderabad commissionerate refunded 14.54 crores related to 782 cases, followed by Cyberabad with 13.65 crores in 2,276 cases, Rachakonda with 9.98 crores in 451 cases, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau with 5.74 crores in 172 cases, and Sangareddy with 1.42 crores in 206 cases.

As per the Supreme Court direction, the National Lok Adalat, which aimed at amicably settling cases between parties through compounding, took place on Saturday. In furtherance of the same, the police department identified eligible cases for settlement and served notices to both parties.

The process began on 9th June 2025 and culminated on Saturday. During this process, authorities liquidated a total of 1,87,145 cases plus 6,294 cyber fraud cases, amounting to 1,93,439 cases. 

According to the statistics released by the Telangana police, the detailed breakup of cases settled is as follows: Total FIR cases compounded: 22,095, Disaster Management cases: 8,922, E-Petty cases: 84,601, Motor Vehicle Act cases: 71,527.

The top units in the disposal of cases during the National Lok Adalat are Hyderabad (32,171 cases), Rachakonda (21,397 cases), and Nalgonda (16,496 cases).

All the police units in Telangana have performed admirably in the disposal of compoundable cases (1,93,439) during the current National Lok Adalat held on 14-06-2025, compared to the 1,83,182 compoundable cases disposed of in the previous National Lok Adalat held on 08-03-2025.

"The National Lok Adalat is a great way for people to settle cases that can be resolved peacefully. This helps cut down on court visits, saves time and money, and brings peace of mind to everyone involved. The public is encouraged to fully utilize the benefits of the National Lok Adalat to settle such matters," read the statement released by Telangana police.

DGP, TG appreciated the DIG, SCRB, DSP SCRB as well as the SCRB team for their close coordination and monitoring with unit officers under the direct supervision of Charu Sinha, IPS, ADGP, CID for case disposals during the National Lok Adalat.
