Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been named in the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) chargesheet in connection with the National Herald case. However, he has not been listed as an accused in the document.

The chargesheet, filed on April 9, 2025, in a Delhi court, focuses on allegations against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. The ED accuses them of acquiring assets worth around ₹2,000 crore belonging to Associated Journals Limited (AJL) through Young Indian (YI), a company linked to the Congress party.

According to the ED, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, along with other Congress leaders including the late Ahmed Patel and Pawan Bansal, allegedly played a role in influencing individuals to contribute to YI and AJL between 2019 and 2022. The agency claims some of these donations were not made voluntarily, but under political pressure, and were tied to expectations of favors.

The ED contends that such contributions do not qualify as genuine donations under the law. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have been named as Accused No. 1 and No. 2 in the chargesheet under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The National Herald case stems from a complaint by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who has alleged financial irregularities involving Congress leaders and associated entities. The case is currently being heard in a Delhi court.
