Narsingi police act on viral tweet, seize vehicle of Congress candidate’s son

Narsingi: Narsingi police seized a vehicle belonging to Kasturi Shravan, the son of Congress MLA candidate from Rajendra Nagar and Manikonda Congress municipal chairman Kasturi Narender, on Monday, October 14, 2024. The vehicle was reportedly seen displaying Kasturi Shravan's name on its number plate instead of a proper registration number.

The incident was initially highlighted by a local citizen on X (formerly Twitter), who goes by the handle @ManikondaCircus. In their post, the citizen criticised the perceived double standards in law enforcement, stating, "In Manikonda, it seems like there's one law for the people and another for the people's representatives. Corruption, rowdyism, and law violations have become common. People need to take notice of this, and the law should be applied equally to everyone. When will such a system be held accountable? @TelanganaDGP"

The tweet quickly gained attention, resonating with many citizens who echoed the call for action against those violating the law, particularly the public. Netizens expressed frustration over what they viewed as preferential treatment for political leaders.

In response to the concerns raised, Narsingi Police took action, confirming on their official X account, @psnarsingi_cyb, that a case had been registered. They stated, “Upon verifying the vehicle associated with the number plate belonging to Sravan Kasturi Team KNR, we have seized the vehicle, which will be produced before the Hon'ble Court for further proceedings."
