Naga Chaitanya & Sobhita Dhulipala kickstart wedding festivities with Haldi ceremony
Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and actress Sobhita Dhulipala's wedding festivities officially kicked off with a grand Haldi ceremony. The celebrations began this morning, marking the start of the traditional rituals ahead of their much-awaited wedding on December 4, 2024.
As part of the pre-wedding customs, both families participated in the Mangala Snananam ceremony, held at a single venue, where the bride and groom were honoured with the traditional bath to purify them for the upcoming marriage.
Though initially expected to be a lavish wedding, the couple has opted for a more intimate celebration with a simple Telugu Brahmin-style wedding. The ceremony, which is expected to last over 8 hours, will follow traditional Telugu customs and rituals, showing Sobhita’s desire to honour the cultural aspects of the wedding.
As the wedding day approaches, Sobhita has selected a beautiful Kanjivaram silk saree adorned with real gold Zari for the occasion. According to the reports, designers from Ponduru, Andhra Pradesh, are weaving a custom white khadi saree for her, with a matching ensemble designed for Naga Chaitanya.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita, who had been in a relationship for two years before getting engaged in a traditional ceremony at Sobhita’s home in August, began their pre-wedding celebrations in October. The wedding itself will take place in front of Naga Chaitanya’s statue at Annapurna Studios.
