Motorcyclist dies after tree falls in Saidabad

Saidabad: In a tragic incident on the night of October 16, 2024, one person was killed and another seriously injured when a tree collapsed on the roadside near IS Sadan Cross Roads in Saidabad Mandal, Hyderabad.

According to the reports, the tree fell suddenly onto the main road leading to Champapet, striking two individuals riding a motorcycle.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. Further details are awaited.

In a similar incident earlier this year, a couple in Tumkunta faced a similar fate when a massive tree, weakened by recent rains, fell on them as they rode to Cantonment Hospital in Bollarum on May 21, 2024.

The victim has been identified as Devender, a resident of Tumkunta, who was killed instantly. His wife was left badly injured and in shock and was rushed to the hospital alone.

Inspector Srinivas of the Bollarum Police stated, "During the rainy season, such incidents are unpredictable. There was no evidence of negligence." However, residents noted that the tree had been leaning precariously, with its roots loosening after weeks of heavy downpours.
