Missing NIMS professor's body found in pond in Medchal district
Hyderabad: A 62-year-old professor from the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) was found dead in a pond in Suraram, Medchal district, two days after he went missing.
The deceased, identified as M. Vijayabhaskar, a resident of Mettukaniguda, worked in the Biochemistry Department at NIMS. He is survived by his wife and two children.
According to the reports, Vijayabhaskar left home on February 25 without his mobile phone and did not inform anyone of his whereabouts. When he did not return by evening, his family searched for him in various places but was unable to find him. His wife, Sujatha, filed a missing complaint at the Suraram police station.
During the investigation, police found a body floating in Lingam Pond in Suraram. The highly decomposed body was identified as Vijayabhaskar's, and an autopsy has been conducted. It was suspected that financial difficulties may have led to the professor's death. The case is under investigation.
