Miss World contestants set for heritage tour to Warangal and Ramappa Temple today
Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing Miss World 2025 activities in India, contestants are scheduled to begin a heritage tour today, May 14, to explore some of Telangana’s most historic landmarks.
The participants have been divided into two groups for the day-long cultural visit. Delegates from 22 American countries will head to Warangal, where they will visit the Thousand Pillar Temple, Warangal Fort, and the Green (Haritha) Kakatiya hotel.
The tour, set to run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., will focus on the art, architecture, and legacy of the Kakatiya dynasty. Meanwhile, the second group is set to visit Ramappa Temple, another major heritage site in the state.
The cultural journey follows a vibrant day in Hyderabad on May 13, when all 109 Miss World contestants visited the historic Charminar. The contestants were welcomed with a red carpet reception and greeted by local artists performing Arabic Marfa music. Some delegates joined in, dancing and interacting with the local crowd.
A photoshoot was held at Charminar, where contestants engaged with onlookers and captured the monument on their phones. The visit continued with a heritage walk through the nearby Choodi Bazaar (Lad Bazaar), where contestants explored stalls selling traditional bangles, pearls, and decorative items.
Many watched local artisans at work and expressed admiration for their skills. Shopkeepers gifted items to the visitors and presented them with roses, urging them to share the cultural richness of Hyderabad in their home countries.
Later, the contestants visited Chowmahalla Palace, where they were welcomed with shehnai music and traditional dance performances. They toured the palace’s royal exhibits, including the Nizam dynasty’s throne, personal belongings, and artifacts.
The evening concluded with a formal dinner featuring Hyderabadi cuisine. The contestants praised the hospitality and arrangements made by the Telangana government. Among the attendees were Miss World Cristina Przýczkowa, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his family, Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar, and actor Nagarjuna.
Delegates from countries including Nepal, Indonesia, Turkey, East Timor, Guatemala, Guinea, Cameroon, South Africa, Guyana, Seychelles, Peru, Venezuela, and Panama were present.
The Namibian delegate highlighted the communal harmony observed in the Old City, particularly around Charminar. Contestants said the visit left a lasting impression, and they would carry the message "Jarror Aana Telangana" back to their nations.
Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna welcomed the contestants, saying their visit puts Hyderabad on the global map and adds excitement to this year’s competition.
