A Look Back: The Miss World Journey
The Miss World pageant began in 1951 as the “Festival Bikini Contest” during the Festival of Britain. It was founded by Eric Morley, who crowned the first Miss World. After his passing in 2000, his wife Julia Morley took over, maintaining its legacy as one of the world’s oldest and most respected international pageants.
Over the years, the pageant has evolved from a beauty contest to a platform focused on humanitarian efforts. Under the banner "Beauty with a Purpose," contestants engage in community projects, advocate for social causes, and raise awareness around issues such as education, health care, and women's rights.
