In a related case in September 2024, the Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT), in coordination with the Petbasheerabad police, intercepted a trafficking operation involving ganja-infused chocolates from Punjab. Authorities arrested a drug peddler named Tamk Issar Singh and seized 64 packets (totaling 12.68 kg) of ganja chocolates, which contained 2,560 individual chocolates. Additionally, they confiscated 80 grams of dry ganja and a mobile phone. The total estimated value of the seized items was Rs. 1,05,900.

Singh, a 55-year-old resident of Yellammabanda in Jagadgirigutta, had previously been involved in two criminal cases in the area. He was selling the chocolates to construction laborers and others for Rs. 40 per packet.

The arrest was made at the Suchitra X Road Auto Stand based on credible information provided to the SOT Madhapur team and Petbasheerabad police. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Koti Reddy, DCP Medchal Zone; D. Srinivas, DCP SOT, Cyberabad; and ADCP SOT 1.
