Meat vendor arrested in Hyderabad for selling spoiled goat and sheep offals

Hyderabad: The Commissionerโ€™s Task Force, South-East Zone, along with the Veterinary Officer from Charminar Zone, Hyderabad, conducted a raid at a premises in Mathaki Kidki, Dabeerpura, and arrested Mohd Misbahuddin, a 24-year-old meat vendor. The authorities seized 2 quintals of stale and spoiled goat and sheep offals, including legs, heads, tongues, and brains, from his possession. The seized offals are valued at approximately Rs. 1,50,000.

According to the police, Misbahuddin had been purchasing stale offals at a cheap price from the wholesale market, illegally preserving them, and selling them to events, functions, and hotels. This posed serious health risks to consumers, as consuming spoiled meat can lead to various health problems.

The raid was carried out under the supervision of Inspector S. Saidababu and included officials from the Commissionerโ€™s Task Force, South-East Zone, and the Veterinary Office, Charminar Zone. Misbahuddin is facing charges for selling spoiled meat and violating food safety regulations, endangering public health.
