Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out at a Diwan Devdi near Madina circle in the Old City of Hyderabad in the early hours on Monday. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

The fire erupted in the Madina-Abbas Towers which is known for housing clothing stores. According to police, the fire was first noticed on the fourth floor of the shopping complex and it soon spread to the third floor.

After receiving a call about the blaze, the fire department rushed the fire tenders to the spot and efforts are underway to bring the fire under control.

Nearly 30 shops were gutted in the inferno and it has caused extensive property damage to the textile shops located in the complex.

It is not clear what caused the fire, However, the police have registered a case and are investigating.

On Sunday, a blaze of similar intensity erupted in a plastic manufacturing company located at Katedan Industrial Area in Hyderabad. No injuries were reported in the incident.

After receiving the information about the blaze, the fire department pressed the fire tenders into action at the spot and doused the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Frequent fire accidents in the city have raised concerns among residents. In January, a fire broke out at a tiffin centre in the Nizampet area of Bachupally. The incident occurred while several workers were present at the eatery.

Earlier this week, a major fire broke out at a chemical factory in the Cherlapally industrial area. Thick smoke and flames engulfed the factory and the surrounding area.

According to reports, highly flammable substances stored at the facility may have contributed to the blaze. Firefighters quickly rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
