Potholes around manholes on Manikonda Road endanger commuters
Hyderabad: Residents of Shaikpet, particularly those commuting via Manikonda Road near Prerna Hospital and South India Bank, have raised serious concerns over potholes formed around cement and iron manhole covers. The damaged road sections are reportedly causing significant inconvenience, especially for two-wheeler riders, parents, and school children.
The issue was highlighted by Maryala Ajay Kumar on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Tagging the concerned authorities, including @ManikondaMc, @EEmanikonda, @ACLB_Rangareddy, @PrlsecyMAUD, and @cdmatelangana, Kumar wrote, “Potholes around cement and iron manhole covers are causing severe inconvenience to commuters, especially two-wheelers, parents, and school children. There is a serious risk of accidents. Request to do patch work on Manikonda Road near Prerna Hospital.”
Ajay Kumar further pointed out that the potholes, formed around both old and new manhole block covers near South India Bank in Manikonda, have been an ongoing problem. “These potholes pose danger to children and parent commuters during school hours,” he said, urging officials to take immediate action.
He also noted that bikes are skidding, and the issue is affecting parents riding with children. “Request to fix it before it causes further problems,” he added.
