Manchu Manoj accuses father Mohan Babu of favouring Vishnu, claims unfair treatment
Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Manchu Manoj has condemned the allegations made against him by his father and veteran actor Mohan Babu. In a press conference, Manoj clarified that the claims were false and baseless and it was a deliberate attempt to defame him and silence his voice.
Manchu Manoj expressed his deep sadness over the malicious accusations, stating, “It deeply saddens me to address the false, baseless, and fabricated allegations raised against me and my wife, Mounika, by my father, M. Mohan Babu. These claims are not only untrue but also part of a deliberate effort to defame me, create unnecessary family strife, and silence my voice.”
He further stated, “The allegations against me and my wife are completely fabricated. We are self-employed, independent, and have always lived with dignity. I have never relied on my family for financial support or sought any properties. To suggest otherwise is absurd and malicious.”
Clarifying his living situation, Manoj explained, “I have been residing in the family house for over a year. I moved in at the insistence of my father and his close friends, who urged me to stay there after my mother was left alone following my brother's move to Dubai. At that time, my wife was pregnant. The claim that I moved in just four months ago with malicious intentions is entirely fabricated.”
Manchu Manoj also requested authorities to verify his mobile phone tower location for the past year to confirm his residence at the family house. He added, “Dragging my innocent 7-month-old daughter into this dispute is appalling. My children should never have been involved in this matter. This highlights the malicious intent behind these false accusations.”
Referring to the staff employed at the family house, Manoj stated that the nannies had faced abusive language from his father and were living in constant fear. He claimed, “The nannies have consented to provide evidence and witness statements to support these serious allegations. The accusation that we left our daughter unattended is a deliberate attempt to twist the facts. Our daughter was left under the supervision of the nannies and my mother while my wife and I went for a medical evaluation of my injuries.”
Manchu Manoj also raised concerns about missing CCTV footage, asking, “What happened to the CCTV footage? Why were the CCTV drives removed by Vishnu’s associates, Vijay Reddy and Kiran? This tampering raises serious questions.”
He reiterated that he had never asked for properties or inheritance, stating, “I challenge anyone to provide evidence to the contrary. My life has been built on my own merit.”
Regarding the timing of the allegations, Manoj said, “The complaint surfaced after I publicly supported MBU students and local businesses being exploited by Vishnu and his associate Vinay Maheshwari. I have evidence of financial irregularities and exploitation, which I am ready to present.”
Addressing the ongoing family issues, he said, “My father has consistently supported Vishnu in every venture, while I have been sidelined and subjected to defamation. Despite my sacrifices, I have been treated unfairly.”
Manchu Manoj expressed his desire for family unity, stating that in September, he sent a heartfelt message to his father requesting an open and honest discussion to resolve the issues. “My priority is to protect the family legacy and ensure fairness. My plea was ignored,” he added.
He said, “This is not about inheritance or property. It's about truth and fairness. I trust the authorities to conduct a fair and impartial investigation, and I am confident that justice will prevail.”
Meanwhile, on December 10, 2024, actor and Movie Artists Association (MAA) president Manchu Vishnu returned to Hyderabad from Dubai. Speaking to the media at the Hyderabad Airport, Vishnu stated that family quarrels are common and assured that the issues would be resolved soon.
Vishnu is expected to address the situation after his father, veteran actor Mohan Babu, and his younger brother, Manoj, filed separate complaints with the police.
