Man with multiple theft cases held for breaking into MP D.K. Aruna’s home in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police apprehended a burglary suspect after a break-in at the residence of Member of Parliament D.K. Aruna. The accused, identified as Mohammed Akram (48), a resident of Aman Nagar-B, Talabkatta, Hyderabad, was arrested on March 18, 2025.
Akram, a tiles fitter by profession, has a criminal history, with several registered cases for similar offenses across Delhi, including multiple charges under sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for housebreaking and theft.
The incident occurred on the night of March 15, 2025, when the complainant, the MP’s driver, was sleeping on the first floor of the house. At approximately 3:50 a.m., the driver heard strange noises but found no one when he investigated. Upon reviewing CCTV footage around 6:00 a.m., it was discovered that an unknown masked individual had broken into the house through a window, disabled the CCTV system, and spent some time inside before fleeing.
A case was registered under section 331(4) and 305(a) BNS, and an investigation was launched by Detective Inspector R. Madhusudhan at Jubilee Hills Police Station.
On March 18, 2025, following a thorough search, the police located and arrested the suspect near his residence in Aman Nagar-B. The police seized several items, including a hammer, screwdrivers, a cutter, locks and keys, a mobile phone, shoes, clothing, a backpack, and an ID card with the suspect’s details.
The arrested individual has been produced before the court, and further investigation is ongoing.
