Man shoots girlfriend’s father in Saroornagar
Saroornagar: A 57-year-old man was shot in the eye allegedly with an air gun in an apartment complex of Venkateswara Colony in Saroornagar, following a dispute over his daughter's relocation to abroad on Sunday.
The victim, Revanth Anand was injured when Balwinder Singh, 25, allegedly shot him during a confrontation at the apartment. This occurred after Anand secretly sent his 23-year-old daughter to America to end her relationship with Singh.
According to Saroornagar police, Balwinder Singh, a resident of Amberpet and the victim's daughter had been in a relationship for some time. Upon discovering that the girl had been sent abroad without his knowledge, Singh confronted her father at his residence. The heated argument escalated, leading to Singh allegedly firing at Anand with an air gun.
“The projectile struck Anand in the eye, causing serious injury. The victim was rushed to LV Prasad Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Saroor Nagar police have taken Balwinder Singh into custody following the incident. The air gun used in the attack has been seized as evidence,” said V Saidi Reddy, Saroornagar police Inspector.
