Man kills sister, injures brother in Old Malakpet over family dispute

Hyderabad: A man was arrested in Hyderabad on April 9, 2025, after allegedly killing his sister and injuring his brother during a dispute at their family home in Old Malakpet.

Madan Rao, the accused, reportedly went to his mother’s house in the evening, where he got into a heated argument with his 68-year-old sister Laxmi and his 70-year-old brother Sudarshan.

In the course of the altercation, Madan is said to have attacked both siblings with a knife. Laxmi died at the scene, while Sudarshan was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The Chaderghat police responded to the incident and arrested Madan Rao. Authorities have indicated that he may be suffering from mental health issues.
