Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (HNEW) and Chaderghat Police conducted a joint operation and arrested four local drug peddlers. The police seized 74 bottles of Mephentermine Sulphate injections and four mobile phones, with the total contraband worth Rs 1.28 lakh.

On credible information, on 16.08.2025, the HNEW team along with Chaderghat Police conducted a joint operation and apprehended 4 Mephentermine Sulphate Injections local peddlers. The arrested accused were identified as Mohd Imran Ali aka Kala Imran, Ranga Shanker Goud, Dharamkar Ritesh Kumar, and Dharamkar Mohit Kumar.

According to the police, Mohd Imran Ali alias Kala Imran, a drug peddler from Malakpet, born and brought up in Hyderabad, discontinued his degree due to the bad vices of his friends' circle and habituated himself to smoking and injecting Mephentermine sulphate injections into his inner veins, has a criminal background and is involved in multiple criminal cases from Chaderghat, Sultan Bazar and Jubilee Hills police stations. 

“He is also having a Rowdy sheet in Chaderghat PS. He is habituated to a lavish life and leads him to a regular habit of smoking and injecting Mephentermine sulphate injections and later became a peddler and now he is procuring the Mephentermine Sulphate injections along with his Co-Peddler Yawar from an intestate peddler resident of Delhi. Further, he also purchases Mephentermine sulphate injections from another local peddler D. Ritesh Kumar at cheaper rates and sells the same at a higher price for earning easy money. Sometimes, when D. Ritesh Kumar is not available, then he procures Mephentermine Sulphate Injections from D. Ritesh Kumar’s younger brother who is also a local peddler namely D. Mohit Kumar," said Y.V.S. Sudheendra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force/ HNEW, Hyderabad.

Modus Operandi

The Mephentermine Sulphate injections local peddler Mohd. Imarn Ali (Rowdy Sheeter of Chaderghat PS) is a resident of Malakpet and he, along with his co-peddler Yawar R/o: Malakpet (Absconding), is together procuring Mephentermine Sulphate injections from an interstate peddler R/o: Delhi. His regular habit of smoking and injecting Mephentermine Sulphate injections into his inner veins gradually lured him to become a peddler.

On the other side, Mohd. Imran Ali also procures Mephentermine Sulphate injections from D. Ritesh Kumar and D. Mohit Kumar, who are also local peddlers, and they both procure Mephentermine Sulphate injections from R. Shanker Goud, who runs a medical store. Further, Mohd. Imran Ali, along with his co-peddler, sells Mephentermine Sulphate injections to consumers in Hyderabad city at higher rates for earning easy money and enjoying their lifestyle.

In recent times, well-educated and handsome job persons are also becoming victims of drug abuse, which leads them to transform into drug peddlers. The regular addiction among the youth is rising in society, leading to disastrous consequences for the family as a unit and society in general.
