Hyderabad: Mahankali police solve theft case in 24 hours

Hyderabad police swiftly apprehended a three-member interstate gang within 24 hours for stealing nearly Rs. 30 lakh from a business establishment, Deep Engineering Company, in Secunderabad. The gang, led by Muraleedhar Mohan Lal from Bihar, broke into the company's office and stole the cash kept in a locker, which the owner intended to use for his son's MBBS education. Police, after analyzing CCTV footage, tracked the culprits and recovered Rs. 28.62 lakh from them, sending them to judicial remand. The theft was planned and carried out by Muraleedhar Mohan Lal with the help of his associates, Chand Bhan Patel and Uday Raj Singh.

Hyderabad: Mahankali police cracked a theft case within 24 hours and arrested the culprits who had stolen Rs. 28.62 lakh from a business establishment in Secunderabad, Mahankali ACP Sardar Singh told reporters on Monday.

According to police, members of the interstate gang broke the locks of Deep Engineering Company in Old Bhoiguda on the night of February 1 and stole nearly Rs. 30 lakh kept in a locker.

For the past five years, the prime accused, Muraleedhar Mohan Lal from Bihar, along with Chand Bhan Patel and Uday Raj Singh from Uttar Pradesh, would buy textiles from Maharashtra and sell them at the General Bazaar area.

On Saturday night, the accused reportedly planned the theft while staying at Sitara lodge. The probe revealed that Muraleedhar Mohan planned the robbery and carried it out with the support of his associates Chand Bhan Patel and Uday Raj Singh.

The owner of Deep Engineering Company had kept the money in the shop’s locker for his son's MBBS course, the police said. After opening the shop in the morning, the business owner discovered the theft and lodged a complaint with the Mahankali police.

The police registered a case of theft and launched an investigation. After analyzing the CCTV footage in the area, the police tracked down the culprits and recovered Rs, 28.62 lakh in cash from them. They were subsequently sent to judicial remand
