Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills MLA and senior BRS leader Maganti Gopinath passed away in the early hours of Saturday, June 8. He was 62.
Gopinath suffered a heart attack at his residence on June 5. He was immediately rushed to AIG Hospital in Gachibowli by his family. According to hospital authorities, he was brought in after a cardiac arrest. Doctors performed CPR, after which his heart rate, pulse, and blood pressure were temporarily stabilised. He was placed on a ventilator and continued to receive treatment in the intensive care unit.
Despite medical intervention, Gopinath’s condition remained critical. He passed away at 5:45 am on June 8 while still under treatment. Hospital officials confirmed the news.
Gopinath had been dealing with kidney-related health issues for some time. He was admitted to the same hospital three months ago and had undergone dialysis. His health had reportedly remained fragile since then.
Gopinath was a prominent political figure in Hyderabad and served as the MLA from Jubilee Hills constituency. Known for his grassroots connections, he was a long-time member of the BRS party and had held various responsibilities over the years.
His sudden demise has left the political fraternity in shock. Party colleagues and public representatives have expressed their condolences, remembering him as a dedicated public servant. Details regarding the final rites are expected to be announced by the family later in the day.
He had been active in politics for several years and had established a strong base in his constituency. His passing marks the end of a notable political journey that spanned decades.
