Durga Estates park in Madinaguda suffers regular garbage dumping; Residents raise concerns
Hyderabad: Residents of Madinaguda have expressed serious concerns over the regular dumping of garbage in the park at Durga Estates. Local workers and vendors are reportedly responsible for discarding waste in the area, which has led to unsanitary conditions.
According to the residents, stray dogs have been dragging food waste into the park, and recently, a dead dog was found there, causing a foul odor. This, combined with the smell from nearby open drainage, has made the environment unbearable for residents.
The issue was brought to public attention on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by Narayana Rao (@ponnam_Nari). In his post, he stated, “@GHMCOnline In front of the park at Durga Estates, Madinaguda, garbage is being dumped regularly by workers and local vendors. Dogs drag food waste into the park, and recently, even a dead dog was found — causing an unbearable stench along with the smell from open drainage.”
He urged the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to take immediate action, suggesting measures such as cleaning the area, preventing further dumping, installing CCTV cameras, imposing fines on violators, and issuing strict instructions to GHMC staff and vendors to maintain cleanliness in the neighborhood.
In response, the official GHMC handle acknowledged the complaint and said, “Dear Citizen, the issue has been brought to the notice of the @Dc21Ghmc @AMOHchandanagar @cvo_ghmc.”
