Madhapur hostel sexual harassment claim sparks property damage, police probe
Hyderabad: A minor girl staying at the NPP Executive Working Women’s Hostel in Madhapur has accused the hostel owner of sexual harassment, triggering a violent clash that led to property damage. Based on the complaint, the Madhapur police reached the spot.
According to the police, the 16-year-old girl, reportedly from Borabanda, alleged that the hostel owner sexually harassed her. The claim led to an angry confrontation between the girl’s family and the hostel management. In the melee, windows, furniture, and plant pots were broken in protest.
Police arrived after receiving reports of a violent fight at the hostel. Hostel managers denied the sexual harassment allegations, calling them 'false and fabricated'. The Madhapur police have registered a case, and further investigation is underway. The police are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning witnesses to determine the sequence of events.
