Young prodigy earns a place in India Book of Records for her dazzling Kuchipudi feat

Hyderabad: Maddirala Kethana Reddy, a six-year-old Kuchipudi dancer from Telangana, is making waves in the classical dance world with her extraordinary performances.

The talented young dancer has now applied for the Guinness World Records and Limca Book of Records, and trials are currently underway.

The prodigious young dancer captivated the audience with her recent Kuchipudi performance in which she executed a bold and intricate Kuchipudi routine while balancing a pot on her head, holding lighted diyas in her hands, and simultaneously performing a hula hoop routine around her hips.

She also showcased her impressive skills by climbing a pot, turning around while maintaining her balance, and incorporating leg lifts, twists, and bends into her performance.

Her remarkable routine, which lasted a few minutes, was a unique feat for someone her age and was broadcast on Sudarshan News channel.

Kethana Reddy showcased her exceptional talent at the Sankranthi Sambaralu event organised by the Chief Minister’s Office in Vijayawada on January 14, 2024. Her performance garnered widespread acclaim and admiration, earning her accolades from former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The former Chief Minister praised her for her vibrant and skilled performance, acknowledging the impressive level of her achievement given her young age.

Kethana has won numerous accolades for her exceptional talent in Kuchipudi.

  1. She was honored with the "Laasya Sundari" title by Natyanjali Nruthyalayam, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

  2. She received the "Jathiya Puraskar" from the Telugu Samskruthi Sahiti Seva Trust, affiliated with the Telangana Samskruthi Sahithi Book of Records, in Hyderabad, Telangana.

  3. She was awarded the "Natya Kalasri Prathibha Award" for the year 2024 by Sirimuvva Social Service and Arts Academy, Thadepalligudem, Andhra Pradesh.

  4. She earned a place in the "Telugu Book of Records" on November 1, 2024.

  5. She entered the "India Book of Records" on December 21, 2024.

Beyond her exceptional dancing skills, Kethana is also a dedicated student, balancing her academic pursuits with dance training, demonstrating her discipline and passion.
