Nithiin starrer Robinhood collected Rs. 2 crore only on its opening day, while Mad Square bagged around 8 Rs. crore. Despite this, some film reviews took a jibe at the sequel and questioned whether the film was earning well at the box office.

The mixed reviews infuriated the producer Naga Vamsi. At a recent press conference in Hyderabad about MAD Square, the sequel to the 2023 hit MAD, the producer expressed dissatisfaction with some of the reviews for comparing the sequel with MAD. He asked whether they (reviewers) know if the people liked the sequel or not? He also claimed that the film’s earnings have touched Rs. 70 crore mark worldwide since its release on March 28, 2025.

“Do people not know what they like and don’t like, or do you (reviewers) know it all? We need to learn to co-exist in the film industry. Your websites and YouTube channels run because we give you content and interviews. We give you ads too, so try not to kill cinema because you also exist because of this industry,” Naga Vamsi said in a satirical tone.

He said the films provide a means for the reviewers and YouTubers to sustain a livelihood and even challenged them to boycott him and his films and don’t review his work and also don’t take his ads.

“Dammunte mani pareyandi…ban cheyyandi. (I dare you to ban me) Ban me and my films, don’t review them and don’t take my ads. Let’s see how it’ll work then. I will still have a way to promote my films; I will take that headache. But how will you run?,” he added.

The comedy entertainer features an ensemble cast, including Narne Nithin, Sangeeth Shobhan, and Ram Nithin in lead roles. The film's music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, with cinematography by Shamdat Sainudeen and editing by Navin Nooli.
