Lions Club Tellapur installs 2025–26 leadership, outlines annual welfare plan
Hyderabad: Lions Club Tellapur marked its Installation Day today, July 26, 2025, with the swearing-in of its new leadership team for the 2025–26 term. The event, held in Tellapur, was presided over by Lion S.R. Surya Raj, who formally installed the newly elected office bearers.
Lion Ramana Eshwaragari took charge as President, with Lion Chandrashekar Akula appointed General Secretary and Lion Laxminarayana Araveti as Treasurer. The incoming team pledged to continue the club’s service efforts, focusing on community-based programs.
Lions Clubs International Director, Lion Dr. G. Babu Rao, attended as Chief Guest. He praised the Tellapur chapter’s commitment to public service and urged members to deepen their engagement with local communities.
As part of its action plan for the year, the club announced a series of welfare initiatives:
- A health camp in the Double Bedroom Housing Colony at Kollur, aimed at supporting low-income families
- A lake cleaning drive in collaboration with the Tellapur Neighbourhood Association (TeNA)
- Eye and dental check-up camps at government schools
- A road safety awareness campaign for the public and schoolchildren
- Self-defence training for girls and women
- Monthly birthday celebrations at a local orphanage to support underprivileged children
The event concluded with members reaffirming their commitment to community service, aligning with the Lions’ motto: “We Serve.”
