Dhoolpet Lakhan Singh Booked Under PD Act

Dhoolpet: Lakhan Singh of Dhoolpet has been booked under the Preventive Detention Act following repeated cases registered against him in police and excise stations. More than 30 cases are recorded, with allegations of large-scale ganja smuggling. Hyderabad Collector Dasari Harichandan issued the PD Act order based on the recommendation of Prohibition and Excise Enforcement Director Shahnawaz Qasim.

Investigations revealed Lakhan Singh’s links with ganja cultivators and traders in Odisha. He allegedly transported consignments ranging from 25 kg to 100 kg directly to Dhoolpet and supplied them to local dealers. Within the past eight months, he was caught three times by the Excise STF team led by Anji Reddy with 25 kg, 27 kg, and 26 kg of ganja.

Multiple Cases in Hyderabad

Apart from Dhoolpet, major seizures were reported in Mangalhat and Narayanguda police station limits. Over ten cases involving large quantities of ganja are on record. Earlier, another Dhoolpet-based dealer Angoor Bhai was also booked under the PD Act and remains in jail.

The PD Act orders issued by the Collector were formally served to Lakhan Singh by Dhoolpet Excise Sub-Inspector Madhubabu.
