Lake cleanup drive at Mushki Cheruvu on October 26
Hyderabad: The Dhruvansh Organisation is hosting a lake cleanup drive on October 26, 2024, at 8 a.m. at Mushki Cheruvu Lake, located near Manikonda.
Speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Madhulika S. Chowdary, an environmental activist and founder of the Dhruvansh Organisation, highlighted the importance of community participation in such initiatives. “When citizens take part in cleanup drives, it serves as an eye-opener regarding their garbage disposal habits. Many participants have expressed a commitment to being more conscious about disposing of their household waste after joining these efforts,” she stated.
Madhulika Chowdary also highlighted the urgent need for action regarding the lake’s condition, saying, “Mushki Cheruvu, our only freshwater lake, is now severely threatened by debris and garbage dumping. Despite my repeated complaints to the authorities, there has been no effective response. That is why I hope these drives will inspire authorities to take action and help keep our natural assets clean.”
She added, “Let’s make a difference together! Join us for a fun and meaningful lake cleanup drive on October 26 at Mushki Cheruvu Lake. Bring your friends, family, and a positive spirit as we work to keep our beautiful lake clean and protect local wildlife. Every bit of effort counts!
