Lakdikapul to get new stormwater pipelines soon: HYDRAA

Hyderabad: Lakdikapul is one of the busiest junctions in Hyderabad, and the flood situation at this junction will contribute to traffic snarls and chaos in most parts of the city. To tackle the issue, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) Commissioner AV Ranganath, along with Traffic Additional Commissioner P Vishwaprasad inspected the flood-prone Lakdikapul area.

The HYDRAA Commissioner, accompanied by officials from GHMC and the Water Board, identified stormwater pipelines and blockages near Metro Pillar 1211 and a bridge towards Mehdipatnam, which were laid down decades ago and are in bad shape.

Following the inspection, the HYDRAA Commissioner discussed his plan for fixing the pipeline with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Ilambharithi. He said the officials have decided to change the damaged pipelines on this stretch.

As per the HYDRAA Commissioner, the work will commence within a week, and they plan to complete it in one or two days without disrupting traffic flow. The Commissioner is also expected to make similar inspections in 30 other flood-prone areas in the city.
