According to her complaint, on January 4, 2025, at around 9:00 a.m., she was heading towards Vivekananda Nagar when a man riding a motorcycle snatched an 8-gram gold chain from her neck.

The investigation relied heavily on CCTV footage from the scene and an analysis of over 180 cameras along the suspectโ€™s escape route. Advanced technical tools were also employed, ultimately leading to the identification and arrest of the accused.

The suspect, Kotti Sai Ram (28), a resident of KPHB Road No. 5, Kukatpally, was found to have been staying at a hostel in the area for about a month. Originally from Pamarru village in Krishna district, Sai Ram had moved to Hyderabad in search of work but faced significant financial difficulties. Unable to pay his hostel fees and cover other expenses, he turned to crime.

On January 3, 2025, Sai Ram stole a Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle (AP 31AB 1809) parked near OMINI Hospital in Kukatpally. The next day, he used the stolen bike to carry out the robbery.

The police recovered the following items from the suspect and they are a gold chain weighing approximately 8 grams, a Realme smartphone, and the stolen motorcycle.

The successful arrest and case detection were credited to the leadership of K. Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and the efforts of DCP Crimes K. Narsimha, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) K. Srinivasa Rao, and ACP K. Shashank Reddy. Key contributions were also made by Inspector K. Muthu (Kukatpally PS), Detective Inspector B. Venkatesham, Inspector CH Raju, and other staff members involved in the investigation.

The case has been registered under Crime No. 18/2025 at Kukatpally Police Station, and further action is underway.
