Kukatpally land fetches record Rs. 65.3 crore per acre in Telangana Housing Board auction
Hyderabad: A record-breaking price was set for a land parcel in Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB), with one acre of open commercial land sold for ₹65.34 crore. The Housing Board conducted the e-auction on July 30 through an online platform, ensuring a transparent bidding process.
The land, located at Flat No. 1, Phase 4 of KPHB, received 11 bids, with four bidders actively participating. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India emerged as the highest bidder. Housing Board Vice Chairman V.P. Gautam confirmed the record sale and attributed the high price to the open and competitive nature of the online auction.
₹26 Crore Earned Through Rajiv Swagruha Flat Allotment
In a separate initiative, the government generated around ₹26 crore through the allocation of Rajiv Swagruha flats in Bandlaguda Nagole. A total of 159 unoccupied flats were offered for sale in July, and 131 of them were allotted on July 30 through a lottery system.
The flats, targeted at middle-income families, were priced between ₹15–18 lakh. Demand was particularly high for 3BHK units, with 1,325 applications received for just 11 flats. Similarly, 525 applications were submitted for 19 two-bedroom flats, and 234 applications were received for 105 one-bedroom units.
Despite high overall demand, some flats received only one application and were allotted accordingly. Nine flats were reserved for senior citizens and 19 one-bedroom units remained unallotted. Only applicants without a house in the city and within a certain income range were eligible.
The entire lottery process was conducted in the presence of officials from the Revenue and Police Departments. The event continued late into the evening and was overseen by Chief Engineer Bhaskar Reddy, along with officials Narender Reddy, Ravinder Reddy, Uppal Tahsildar T. Vani Reddy, and RI Ashwini Goud.
More Flats Available in Pocharam
The Rajiv Swagruha Corporation is offering 600 additional flats in the Pocharam area. These include 255 one-bedroom units priced at ₹13 lakh and 340 two-bedroom flats priced at ₹19 lakh. Applications are open until July 31, with the allotment lottery scheduled for August 1 and 2. V.P. Gautam stated that applicants who were not allotted a flat in Bandlaguda can reuse their application receipts to apply for flats in Pocharam.
