Record Rs. 2.98 lakh per sq. yard bid at Kukatpally Housing Board auction in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A vacant land auction held by the Telangana Housing Board on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, saw record-breaking bids, with a plot in Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Colony Phase 7 fetching ₹2.98 lakh per square yard, the highest ever recorded in recent Housing Board auctions.

The public auction, conducted at the local community hall, featured 18 vacant plots ranging from 198 to 987 square yards. A total of 6,232 square yards were sold during the event, which drew 84 participants. The average bid across all plots stood at ₹2.38 lakh per square yard.

Plot number 22 received the highest bid of ₹2.98 lakh per square yard, setting a new benchmark for Housing Board land prices. Officials described the auction results as a reflection of growing demand and sustained interest in Hyderabad’s real estate market.

According to Vice Chairman of the Housing Board V.P. Gautam, the auction is expected to generate approximately ₹142.78 crore in total revenue. Buyers are required to pay 25% of the bid amount within two days, which is projected to bring in ₹35.34 crore immediately. The auction marks a significant moment for the Housing Board, indicating strong investor confidence in the city’s residential land sector.
