Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy is celebrating his 55th birthday today on November 8, 2024, but the occasion was marked by a satirical birthday wish from K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), the Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), KTR wished Revanth Reddy with a post saying, “Happy Birthday @revanth_anumula. I am very much in Hyderabad. Your agencies are welcome anytime. Chai, Osmania biscuits, and if they want to cut your birthday cake, it’s on me.” The comment appeared to be a sarcastic remark aimed at the ongoing political tensions and investigations into the Formula E race controversy in Hyderabad.

This comes after BRS member Krishank also took to X, responding to media reports about KTR. He posted, “A Congress newspaper wrote today, 'KTR off to Malaysia fearing arrest.' We know, we know, we know. The target is to character-assassinate @KTRBRS. Don’t make journalism a joke; KTR is reading this news while sipping chai this morning at his home in Hyderabad.”

The satirical birthday message from KTR comes amid a heated political situation between the BRS and Congress. The controversy over the Formula E race, which took place earlier this year in Hyderabad, has intensified, with allegations of financial irregularities and claims that funds were withdrawn without proper authorization. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has called for an inquiry, questioning how Rs. 55 crore was transferred for the event without legal clearance.

KTR, however, has denied the allegations, dismissing them as politically motivated attacks. He has maintained that the funds were properly allocated for the event, which was intended to boost Hyderabad's global image as a hub for electric mobility and attract investments.

The Formula E controversy continues to unfold, with political parties exchanging accusations. KTR’s satirical birthday wish has added to the ongoing tensions between the BRS and the Congress parties.
